Prayer Ministry

Praying

Mother Teresa once said, "In the silence of the heart God speaks. If you face God in prayer and silence, God will speak to you. Then you will know that you are nothing. It is only when you realize your nothingness, your emptiness, that God can fill you with Himself. Souls of prayer are souls of great silence.”  (In the Heart of the World: Thoughts, Stories and Prayers)

At Culbertson Baptist, prayer shapes what we do and how we follow Christ. We begin each Sunday morning worship service with a scripture reading and an invocation, reminding us that God's presence is here among us and God invites us to become a character in God's story on earth through the person of Jesus Christ as revealed in the Holy Scriptures. We also conclude each worship service with a benediction, sending us out into the world, serving through God's kingdom.

During the week, we have Intercessors, praying for our church and community. For one hour every day, someone in our congregation prays for God's will to be done through us. Some choose to pray at home, while others gather in our Fireside room on the upper level of the education section of our church building. If you would like to join this ministry, you may contact our church office.

Philippians 4:6-7,
New Living Translation

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
